Zeelandlodges

Heille (Sluis, Zeeuws-Vlaanderen)

Farm “Hoeve de Knokkert” is a small agri complex of about 20 ha. situated in the most South-Western part of the Netherlands, in an isolated community 1 km from the Belgian border. It is owned by a family for over 200 years.

Hoeve De Knokkert offers in the nearby future tourist accommodation, agri-nature workshops, product launches, foodmarkets related to seasonal produce and culinary activities. This enables us to preserve and strengthen the cultural-historical and ecological values of the farm.

Zeeland Lodges as accommodation forms a connecting element with regional products, produce of the farm, a quiet pleasant stay, and the surrounding landscape (flora and fauna). The project is an excellent way to experience sleeping, eating, and living in an agricultural community, as it is now. Guests can participate in the future in culinary workshops and table d’hotes based on supply of regional products. Beside that the location is pre-eminently suitable for the launching of culinary related products and reliving experiences. Storytelling is an inseparable part of this. These different experiences will bring the participants and guests in ‘Zeeuwse Sferen”.

We like our guests to become acquainted with the agricultural traditions and stories of rural life. Working and cooking with rural products, seasonal produce, and processing of residual flows (no waste); the way it used to be in former days but then in a new version of nowadays life.

Rural gastronomy, heritage, nature and typical landscape, traditions and customs will be connected.
